Services Overview

The Company operates with two Principals and covers the whole of the UK, with work concentrated primarily in England.

Feasibility Studies

Initial assessments of sites are carried out to determine their potential for the establishment of new sports facilities, or the upgrading of existing sports grounds. Reports cover the feasibility of carrying out the development to suit the Clients’ needs, the most appropriate way of meeting their requirements, Planning implications where applicable and budget costings. The Company will liaise when required with Associates, who specialise in Applications for Grant Aid and other sources of funding.

Design for New Projects or Upgrading of Existing Facilities

When the Clients’ requirements have been determined, detailed proposals with drawings, specifications and bills of quantities can be prepared and tenders sought from suitable contractors. Tenders are analysed and the full analysis with a Tender Report, are submitted to the Client, with recommendations on the most suitable offer from the tendering contractors. When Planning Applications are required the necessary information is collected, submitted and followed through the Planning process.

Contract Awards and Management

If the Clients require Sports Ground Design to manage the implementation of the project, the contractor is appointed. Once works are underway, site visits are carried out to monitor the progress of the works, check compliance with the specification and ensure costs are strictly controlled. Any variations to the works are negotiated with the contractor and claims for payments by the contractor are scrutinised and valid payments certified.

On completion of works, and throughout the defects liability period, normally 12 months, the Company monitors progress of the facility to ensure it performs as specified. Where appropriate, arrangements are made with Authorised Test Houses for testing of the facilities to meet the Specifications of Sports’ Governing Bodies.
